- Each player, in the Barrie Ultimate League is required to abide by the following Rules and Regulations as set out by the B.U.L Executive Committee.
- UPA Rules of Ultimate (10th Edition), with the following additions and exceptions, will be in place for the season:
- Co-ed: Barrie Ultimate will be a 5/2 co-ed league. A team may not field more than 5 of either gender at any given time. A team that cannot field 2 of one or the other gender still cannot play with more than 5 of either gender.
Start of the Game: (See UPA 10.1 VIII.A.4.) Amendment: If only one team fails to signal readiness for the start of a scheduled game, the opposing team shall be awarded goals at a rate of one goal for every 5 minutes elapsed, to a maximum of 3 points. If the team has not signaled readiness before 20 minutes elapse, the team will default and a score of 17-0 (or 15-0) will be awarded to the opposing team.
- Pull (Readiness): (See UPA 10.1 VIII.B.4.) Amendment: The pull may be made only after the thrower and a player on the receiving team raise a hand to signal that team's readiness to begin play. Each team must have a minimum of five players and a maximum of seven players in order to signal readiness.
- Length of the Game: (See UPA 10.1 V.A.) Game to goals: A standard game is played until one team’s number of goals scored first reaches or exceeds 17, the game total, with a margin of at least two goals. [NOTE: This amendment does not apply to A Division (Competitive)
- End of the Game: (See UPA 10.1 V.A.2.) A time cap and hard cap is set for each night. When the time cap is reached and the current scoring attempt is completed, play will continue until one team is winning by a margin of at least two goals. The hard cap is the ending of the game once the time is reached and the current scoring attempt is completed. If the score is tied, the teams play until one additional goal is scored. If it gets too dark to play, captains shall agree to stop the game (tie scores acceptable).
- Foot blocks: (See UPA 10.1 XVI.I.8) are not allowed except with the explicit prior agreement of both team captains. Any footblock (attempted or successful) by a marker within five feet of the thrower should be treated as a throwing foul.
