2012 Winter Indoor Teams and Schedule have been Posted

The teams, schedule and standings can all be found under the rec league tab above under 2012 Winter Indoor. Team names will be changed as I receive them from team captains.

Monday January 9th, tomorrow, is the first night of games. Please be there a few minutes before your game time in order to talk to your captain if you have any questions that need to be answered.

Congrats to the Fall Champs

Congratulations to the Dig Lizards for winning the 2011 fall indoor season. The final was a very close game played against the Elder Renegade Rockers. After an hour of hard play, the Dig Lizards pulled ahead and won by two.

Thanks to all of our leagues’ players for a great season and we hope to see everyone in the winter 2012 season. Registration is now open and closes Friday January 6. Teams and schedule will be posted the Sunday before the first games.

December 12 is the last week of Indoor Playoffs

The fall league championship is this coming Monday at 7:15 pm. Its always fun to come out and watch so come by the dome to catch the game.

BARRIE FOOD DRIVE

Monday December 12 is the last night and Tyler will be collecting food for the Barrie Food Bank all night, in the name of Barrie Ultimate. Please bring a donation, if you would like. There will be a labeled box, to contain all donations, on one of the tables inside the dome playing area. If you are reading this and are interested in bringing food, please make a note in your day timer and tell all of your Frisbee friends.

Winter registration is now open and can be found at the link below. E-mail tyler@barrieultimate.com if you have any questions, need any help, or if you cannot register online but would still like to play. Registration closes January 6, 2012, and the first games are the following Monday night.

2012 Winter Registration Is Open

Registration will be open until Friday January 6th at 12 midnight. The first games will commence on Monday January 9th, 2012 between 6 PM & 11 PM and run for 13 weeks through to April 3rd, 2012.

Frisbee Golf Course

This coming Monday at 7pm there is a meeting at city hall with council voting on whether the town of Barrie will build a Frisbee Golf course. If you are interested in a Frisbee golf course it may help to persuade the council to vote yes if there are people there who support the course.

2011 Fall Indoor Starts This Monday

If you are new to the league try and come to the sports dome on Hanmer St. a little early and I will be there all night to answer questions.

I would like to remind all players that this is a recreational league and that the primary focus of all games is to have fun and teach frisbee skills.

Fall Registration is Open Until September 30, 2011

This years fall indoor league begins Monday October 3, 2011. Teams and the season schedule will be posted at www.barrieultimate.com the Sunday evening before the first nights games.

Please register as early as you can as teams need to be created and posted the Sunday night before the season begins. We will have to cancel the season if there are not enough players registered.

The league prefers online payment with visa, but if you cannot pay in this manner e-mail Tyler at tyler@barrieultimate.com and payment by cheque or cash can be made at the beginning of the season.

You still need to register at the above ODSA site in order to be covered by the league insurance. Registration is free and takes only a couple of minutes.

Winter Indoor 2011 Playoffs Begin

The regular season is complete and we have the final regular season standings. All eight teams make the playoffs and any team can win the season. Look for the first weeks game times under the rec league tab.

There are three weeks of playoffs and then the indoor season is done. The championship team is the one team that does not lose a game in the playoffs. All teams play each Monday for the three weeks, but teams that suffer a loss will play for fun only. Look for the next games schedule each Wednesday as the playoffs progress.

I would like to also give advance notice that the league will be doing an Easter food Drive on the last Monday, April 4. If you would like to bring in a non-perishable food item or items, Tyler will be collecting all night. All food will be given to the Barrie Food Bank in the leagues name. Please leave yourself a note in your day-timer so you won’t forget.

Winter Indoor 2011 Continues

Now that the first round robin is over, there are only six more games left in the season. The top four teams will play a round robin and the bottom four will as well. That means three more games of regular season and then three games of playoffs. The playoffs are single loss elimination, with the first place team against eighth, second versus seventh, third against sixth and the fourth and fifth teams playing in the first weeks games. Winning teams continue toward the finals and losing teams play consolation games for the remaining weeks of the season.

Remember that we play every Monday night for the next six weeks, including March break. The final game night, when the championship game will be played, will be April 4, 2011.

This seasons teams and the first seven games are posted under the rec league tab. First night of games is Monday January 10, 2011. Please bring a red shirt and a white shirt for every game.
