BUL Annual General Meeting – Febuary 5th @ 7:30pm

Barrie Ultimate will be holding their annual general meeting Thursday February 5th at 7:30pm at the Barrie Sports Dome (99 Hamner St.).  Anyone is welcome to attend. If you are interested in helping the league, if you have feedback for us, if you want to be involved, if you want to learn more please attend.

Topics typically covered include changes for the next summer season, shirts, touring teams, fields, volunteers, social events.  The more people involved the better we can make our league.

Competitive League Champions = B-Rad’s Tongue & Groove

B-Rad Mayer’s wily veterans squared off against Reverend Hodgson and the Barely Legals.  It was an epic battle pitting the wise veterans (and one young one) against the exuberant youthful superstars (and Gavin).

After battling the elements, poor weather and each other B-Rad’s team was victorious 13 to 12. The final point being scored in the dark and dreary rain.

Congratulations – see everyone indoors (registration to open sept9-10ish)

Rec Season Champions Decided – EH!

10 teams squared off on a hot saturday to see who would be declared the 2008 BUL rec league champions. After the 2 pools of teams played their round robin games Jim Millington’s “Inconceivable” was set to meet Aaron Kucheraway’s “Eh” in the final. The other teams stuck around to enjoy the burgers and the jumping castle and to watch the final.

Aaron Kucheraway’s “Eh” came out on top and claimed the trophy for 2008 – congratulations.

Competitive League Starts May 15th

Competitive league will have 6 teams this year. Please bring your money to the first game on May 15th. Games are at  Allandale Heights Public School and Central High School.  The schedule can be found by clicking the “2008 comp schedule” tab on the right of this page under league play. Games start at 6:30pm. Captains please talk before the game to sort out if you will play 5:2 or 4:3 based on the numbers each team has. Catch the Spirit 2008

Look for Barrie Ultimate’s new and improved tournament in the summer of 2009. We will not be hosting “Catch the Spirit” in 2008 as we continue our work to select a weekend and a format that will work best for the ultimate community.
